The use of timber in medium- to large-scale buildings is gaining attention as an effective means of decarbonization and has reached the stage of technical implementation. However, the lack of a shared, integrated vision for architecture and society, as well as limited opportunities for discussion, is hindering its wider adoption. We aim to promote Japan’s advanced timber construction technologies internationally and propose context-specific solutions tailored to local climates and regions.
